Our Miami Beach clinicians range from psychologists, doctoral externs, clinical social workers and mental health counselors. 


History

Ally Psychological was founded by licensed psychologist, Dr. Nicholas Scheidt who began working with the South Florida community in 2007. Since then, we have grown and added to our services and moved into our current home on Lincoln Road where you will find a boutique practice that offers clients top notch treatment. We have now grown to five therapists and two support staff who are committed to client care that is second to none. We are excited to share our growth with the South Florida community and are delighted to help clients grow, learn, and thrive in our tropical paradise.

Our mission at Ally Psychological is to promote the growth, health, and wellbeing of our clients and the community at large. Through comprehensive treatment, integrative care, community outreach, and holistic care, we help guide and empower our clients to live life to the fullest. Through our training programs we work to develop the best talent to ensure the psychology and wellness fields have competent, experienced, and caring practitioners for years to come. Through our workshops we aim to help couples, groups, and professionals realize their utmost potential. CEO & Licensed Psychologist

Nicholas Ruben Scheidt, Psy.D., AADP

Dr. Nicholas Ruben Scheidt is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Miami Beach, FL. Dr. Scheidt has extensive training working with individuals, couples and groups providing psychotherapy and psychological testing. Dr. Scheidt has 15+ years experience across a variety of settings including private practice, teaching, research, disability evaluations, court competency evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, community mental health, and university counseling and psychological services. 

Dr. Scheidt holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Albizu University, whose program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Scheidt completed his doctoral internship in clinical psychology at Florida International University's Counseling and Psychological Services Center, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association, The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers, and The International Association of Counseling Services. 

Dr. Scheidt was awarded his bachelor's degree in both Spanish and Latin-American Studies from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He earned his master’s degree in psychology from Albizu University in Miami, FL. Dr. Scheidt has published various works in the field including his doctoral project "Positive Attitudes Learning and Support Program." This work is an internet based intervention to promote wellness for the GLBT community. Moreover, Dr. Scheidt served for a year as a weekly columnist for the FIU Newspaper "The Beacon" where he authored a psychology advice column entitled "Ask Nick". Furthermore, Dr. Scheidt was featured in a cover story for the magazine GradPsych for his expertise in time management. Dr. Scheidt has repeatedly been featured on CNN as a an expert on depression.

Registered mental health counseling Intern

Noah Shasha, M.S.Ed.

Noah Shasha is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with experiences ranging from substance-use to dual diagnoses and offers patient affirming, empathetic care for LGBTQIA+ folks, marginalized voices, and other intersectional identities. His most recent clinical experience was at Greenwich House Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program (New York, NY) with previous experience at a Palliative Care Unit (West Palm Beach, FL).

Noah utilizes an integrative style that encourages clients to develop a deeper understanding of how their emotional, behavioral, and/or relational patterns may prevent them from flourishing. He has competencies with Depression, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Addiction, Trauma, Life Changes, Gender & Sexual Identity Development, Relationship Issues, and Sex/Sexuality. He is actively accepting new clients and is excited to work with you to find which combination of approach, competence, and frequency will best support your development in one of the most transformational times of your life.

Noah holds both a Master's Degree (M.S.Ed) in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Psychology from Hunter College in New York City, New York.

Dr. Raul Soto-Yulfo, Psy.D.  

 Dr. Raúl Soto-Yulfo, Psy.D. completed his Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (1996) at Inter American University of Puerto Rico. In 1997 moved to Miami and obtained his Master of Science in Psychology and his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology (M.S., 2011 and Psy.D., 2017) both with distinction from Albizu University in Miami, Florida. Dr. Soto-Yulfo worked in the Aviation Industry for 14 years, allotting him the opportunity to work with different individuals from multiple backgrounds.  While working, he managed study psychology, which is his real passion. He completed his APA accredited Pre-doctoral Program and APA accredited Residency Program at Citrus Health Network, Inc. where he had the opportunity to continue honing his therapy and assessment skills. Since 2009, he had the opportunity to work with diverse populations; psycho-educational, psychological, and neuropsychological evaluations; distinct theoretical approaches, varied modalities, and different mental disorders including substance use.  His professional interests include adult psychotherapy and assessments.  Currently, he is a licensure candidate in the State of Florida. His hobbies outside professional interests include reading, photography, and traveling.
