Ally Psychological was founded by licensed psychologist, Dr. Nicholas Scheidt who began working with the South Florida community in 2007. Since then, we have grown and added to our services and moved into our current home on Lincoln Road where you will find a boutique practice that offers clients top notch treatment. We have now grown to five therapists and two support staff who are committed to client care that is second to none. We are excited to share our growth with the South Florida community and are delighted to help clients grow, learn, and thrive in our tropical paradise.
Our mission at Ally Psychological is to promote the growth, health, and wellbeing of our clients and the community at large. Through comprehensive treatment, integrative care, community outreach, and holistic care, we help guide and empower our clients to live life to the fullest. Through our training programs we work to develop the best talent to ensure the psychology and wellness fields have competent, experienced, and caring practitioners for years to come. Through our workshops we aim to help couples, groups, and professionals realize their utmost potential. Nicholas Ruben Scheidt, Psy.D., AADP
Dr. Nicholas Ruben Scheidt is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Miami Beach, FL. Dr. Scheidt has extensive training working with individuals, couples and groups providing psychotherapy and psychological testing. Dr. Scheidt has 17+ years experience across a variety of settings including private practice, teaching, research, disability evaluations, court competency evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, community mental health, and university counseling and psychological services.
Dr. Scheidt holds a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Albizu University, whose program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Dr. Scheidt completed his doctoral internship in clinical psychology at Florida International University's Counseling and Psychological Services Center, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association, The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers, and The International Association of Counseling Services.
Dr. Scheidt was awarded his bachelor's degree in both Spanish and Latin-American Studies from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He earned his master’s degree in psychology from Albizu University in Miami, FL. Dr. Scheidt has published various works in the field including his doctoral project "Positive Attitudes Learning and Support Program." This work is an internet based intervention to promote wellness for the GLBT community. Moreover, Dr. Scheidt served for a year as a weekly columnist for the FIU Newspaper "The Beacon" where he authored a psychology advice column entitled "Ask Nick". Furthermore, Dr. Scheidt was featured in a cover story for the magazine GradPsych for his expertise in time management. Dr. Scheidt has repeatedly been featured on CNN as a an expert on depression.

Valerie Libutti, M.S.
Valerie Libutti is a registered mental health counseling intern with a passion for working with people struggling with body image issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, and disordered eating.
She offers affirming care to LGBTQIA+ folks and supports all marginalized identities. Valerie has an integrative approach to working with clients that is collaborative, authentic, and supportive. Her work with clients is shaped by internal family systems, schema therapy and attachment theory. She is currently accepting new clients.
Valerie has her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University.
She was born and raised here in Miami Beach, Florida, and in her free time, she likes to read, go to the beach, and spend time with her husband and her corgi, Flynn.

Dr. Raul Soto-Yulfo, Psy.D.
Raul Soto-Yulfo, Psy.D., M.S., earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Inter American University of Puerto Rico. He later relocated to Miami, Florida, where he obtained his Master of Science in Psychology and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University, graduating with distinction.
Prior to completing his graduate training, Dr. Soto-Yulfo spent 15 years in the aviation industry and logistics, an experience that afforded him the opportunity to work closely with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. During this time, he pursued advanced studies in psychology—a vocation he regards as his true calling.
Dr. Soto-Yulfo completed both his APA-accredited predoctoral internship, APA-accredited postdoctoral residency at Citrus Health Network, Inc., and three psychology fellowships in the private practice sector, where he refined his expertise in psychotherapy, behavioral health, and comprehensive psychological assessment. Since 2009, he has provided services to a broad and diverse clientele, conducting psychoeducational, psychological, and neuropsychological evaluations with precision and clinical rigor.
His clinical practice integrates multiple theoretical frameworks and evidence-based treatment modalities, allowing for highly individualized care. He has extensive experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, life-transitions, and substance use disorders. His professional focus includes adult psychotherapy, LGBTQIA+ community, as well as comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Soto-Yulfo enjoys reading, photography, and international travel.
